You guys... What do you do for a living? How do you spend your days when not at work? What's important in life?
Matt and his dad run their own car body repair company and I work in design and marketing for a schoolwear manufacturer, whilst running a travel business along the side. We both love nothing more than exploring new places, whether close to home or further afield. We love Italy and have been on several holidays there, but equally love more rural and countryside escapes (we’re heading to Switzerland for our honeymoon!). Our weekends generally consist of walking and hiking in nature - we’re not afraid to get our boots muddy! Or going to see some live music (our faves so far would have to be Mumford & Sons and Bastille). Matt also enjoys golf and I grew up as a dancer - not something I’ve really done in the last few years but is still a passion of mine. We’re the type of people who would generally pick a takeaway at home over a fancy restaurant, and just enjoy spending time together.
Why do you want to capture your Tournerbury Woods Estate Wedding on Video?
To have the ability to watch our day back and re-live the moments and feelings, really is important to us. We want something that captures the essence of our day, from the big moments to the smaller interactions with our guests. My memory, in particular, is terrible, so I know that having our wedding film will allow me to remember all the parts of our wedding, whilst also showing us both moments we may not have even seen during our day.
Why did you pick me to video your wedding at the Ravenswood?
Knowing that you work well with Becky (OliveJoy Photography) was a massive bonus for us! Becky shot my best friends wedding last year and I loved her style, so knowing that you’re similar was just perfect. We also felt like we gelled well with you when we met.
The proposal? .. Tell me everything
We were away in the Peak District and Matt took me to the top of Chrome Hill to watch the sunset on our second night. At the top he asked me to walk towards the edge of the mountain and look out at the sunset, and he’d take a few photos of me. A minute later he called my name, I turned around and he was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring asking me to marry him. I burst into tears and instantly said yes! (I’m a very emotional person, so expect a lot of tears on our big day!). We were the only ones up there, so it really was a special moment just for the two of us.
A Tournerbury Woods Estate Wedding - Why this wedding venue above anywhere else?
We both instantly got ‘the feeling’ as soon as we walked onto Tournerbury Woods Estate. We love walking at Chichester Harbour, so the fact that this has views looking across to the Harbour was a huge selling point. We also initially wanted a tipi wedding but the cost and logistics was just going to be too much - when we saw the African-inspired raised deck Safari tent, it gave us those tipi vibes and we knew it was the perfect place for us to get married. We also love woodland walks and getting out in nature and Tournerbury has this in abundance! We always envisioned having a relaxed, easy-going, fun wedding and Tournerbury just felt like the perfect venue for us to bring our vision to life!
